The Vaikunta Ekadasi celebration at the Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams will take place on January 2, 2023.
Vaikunta Ekadasi is a significant festival in Hinduism that is celebrated at the Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams (TTD) temple in Tirumala, India. It is believed that on this day, the gates of Vaikunta (heaven) are opened, and devotees who perform certain rituals and observe certain vows are believed to be able to enter into the divine realm and attain salvation.
The festival is celebrated on the 11th day (Ekadasi) of the bright half (Shukla Paksha) of the Hindu lunar month of Margashirsha. In 2023, Vaikunta Ekadasi will fall on January 2.
In preparation for the festival, the TTD has decided to issue online quota tickets for Special Entry Darshan (SED) at the Tirumala temple, which will be available on the TTD website from December 24, 2022 at 9 am. During the month of January 2023, the TTD will only allow Sarva darshanam tokens to be issued to devotees, and there will be no Arjitha sevas (special services or rituals). These Sarva darshanam tokens will be available at 8 locations in Tirupathi and Tirumala, including Bhudevi Complex, Srinivasam, Govinda Raja Swamy Choultry, MR Palli Z.P. High School, Municipal Office, Ramachandra Pushkarini, Ramanaidu School, and Jeevakona Z.P. High School. The tokens will be issued continuously 24 hours a day from January 1, 2023.
In addition to obtaining tickets or tokens, devotees may also participate in special puja (worship) and other rituals during the Vaikunta Ekadasi celebrations at the Tirumala temple. These rituals may include fasting, chanting of hymns and prayers, and offering of flowers and other offerings to the deity. It is believed that by participating in these rituals and observing the vows associated with Vaikunta Ekadasi, devotees can attain spiritual liberation and enter the divine realm of Vaikunta..

To plan your visit to the temple and to obtain tickets, you can visit the official website of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), the organization that manages the temple. You can also contact the TTD or its authorized agents for information about darshan timings and ticket availability. It is advisable to plan your visit well in advance, as the number of daily visitors to the temple is limited and tickets may sell out quickly.
There are different types of darshan tickets available, each with its own set of rules and regulations. It is important to familiarize yourself with these rules and regulations before your visit to ensure that you have a smooth and enjoyable experience.
